Sophia is officially 4!

Sophia, you are officially 4! Where has the time gone? 9 years ago, mommy and daddy weren't sure they would ever get to have you. Then July 2010 we found out we were pregnant!!! We cried so hard but these were tears of joy. We debated over names, you were either going to be Mason Cash (boy) or Sophia Grace. Thanksgiving came and we found out we were having a Sophia Grace! Of course I was ecstatic. I tried hard not to buy any clothes because I knew baby showers would bring more than enough...that lasted all of 10 minutes. I had a great pregnancy and loved every minute of it. My feet would swell daily but nothing uncomfortable. I craved McDonalds ice cream and cereal. Everyone said I was starving  you because I would only eat cereal but trust me that is all you wanted. Probably why you were born with 2 teeth. Apparently these are called natal teeth and happen 1 in every 2000-3000 births. April 9, 2011 we knew you were 1 in a million. We were scheduled to be induced on April 8. We arrived at the hospital only to be told the delivery rooms were jam packed and we would need to come back the following day. April 9 we showed up bright and early. After 6 hours of labor (which I didn't feel...thank you epidural) you arrived at 12:50pm. You were perfect. They handed you over to me and we met face to face for the very first time. I will forever have that memory in my mind. After a while they took you for your first bath and daddy never left your side. After 2 days in the hospital we took you home to start our new life together.

I am so glad I have pictures to remember the times because they go by so fast. Rio was your favorite movie and you would dance overtime the movie started. You would call it Ri. I remember you learning to walk, you stumbled but got right back up and tried again. You loved strawberries and cereal (surprise, surprise). You were always at the top of your percentile and had big feet. You always looked like a giant compared to other babies. Your first word was mama and you have always been a mama's girl. To this day if I leave the room you are asking everyone where I am. You are very curious but cautious too. You want to know why things happen and ask why ALL. THE. TIME. It takes you a while to warm up to someone or something. You have to be sure before you will try it. You are also very athletic and are good at everything you try. I thought you would be a girly girl and like dance class, dresses and jewelry but no. You love any sport, love to be outside and do not like dance class. You tell us dance gives you a headache??!!?? Really? You have a flair for the dramatic and have a big imagination. When we say our prayers at night, you start off thanking God and end up telling a story about your day or a dream you had. Focus Sophia :) You are a great big sister and always watch out for Olivia. Both of you hug and say I love you all day! This brings my heart such joy. You love to paint, color, draw and read. I think you would rather do this than play with toys. Oh and did I mention you are hilarious! I call you number 1 and Olivia number 2. When you are talking to Daddy, you tell him "Look at number 2". Its really funny. If Grandma isn't listening, you tell her you are going to tell Mommy that she wasn't listening. When you get upset you tell me "Mom, look me in the eyes. You are making me very upset." We were once in an elevator and a man stepped wearing a cowboy hat. You said "Look Mom, its a Cowboy. Yeeeeehawwww" It was hilarious. When you are telling a story, you make big faces and talk with your hands. It seems like you are telling the most interesting story ever. You use words like amazing, hilarious, incredible and anything else that adds drama to your story.
Sophia, thank you so much for making me a mommy. I love you so much and can't imagine my life without you. Daddy and I love seeing the little girl you are becoming. You can do anything in life that you want. Keep a good head on your shoulders and stay the girl with the big heart.
