This week was the girls first day of school and it couldn't have gone better. Sophia woke up bright and early (6:30am), let me brush her teeth and comb her hair. I think she was ready to go by 7:15am and school didn't start until 9:00am. Olivia woke up about 7:00am and had her usual morning routine (bottle, breakfast, dress and play). Olivia didn't think this day was different than any other. We all had breakfast and hung out until it was time to drop the girls off. Sophia was so excited. She talked about Eslin the whole way there. She talked about how much fun they were going to have, she was going to show Eslin the playground and introduce her to all of her friends. I think she thought she was going to be in the same classroom as last year. When we arrived we dropped Sophia off first. This class is more organized and teaches the kids routine. When Sophia walks in the class, she takes her cup to one are, drops her backpack and lunch box in another, sits at her desk and writes her name and then she can play with the other kids in the class. I love it. I am a big sucker for routine and I also like that she practices her name daily. She does this at home with my mom so I was excited that she was able to show off her skills at school. Next up was Olivia. I really wasn't worried because she is so laid back and goes with the flow. We stayed a little longer in Olivia's class. We talked to the teachers, what to expect and let them know how to make her bottles. I even wrote instructions (rolling my eyes). I just had to make sure my baby was going to be okay. Yes that is silly being that Sophia has already gone through this and I thought this time would be easier. Olivia got involved right away. She and another little girl played beside each other and when I went back to check on her she was touching the little girls face. Probably excited to see new people. Jason picked the girls up after school because I had to work=conversion :( He said they did well. I was so excited when I got home because I was able to read their daily reports. Sophia had a great day! They did playground, singing, lunch and church. Olivia had a wonderful day. She ate ALL of her lunch (no surprise there) and she was a happy baby all day. She only slept for 45 minutes but she did sleep at home. Olivia usually sleeps 2 1/2 - 3 hrs in her crib but this is a new environment so I'm guessing it will get easier. Thursday went just as great for the girls and I am beyond proud of my girls!!! I've been begging Jason for another one because my littles are growing up but he's on the NO train. We will see if we can change that.....
